Roadblock

If you have been following us along facebook, then you will know that the Mesquite hospital has been getting a lot of money from us this weekend. I sprained my ankle while playing with Sydney on the playground, and Sydney had an allergic reaction to her medicine the doctor prescribed her (we ended up in the ER from it). The doctor told me to stay off my feet for a week... CRAZY when you have a toddler. I'm very lucky that my parents are staying with us till Wednesday to help out, and then James will be taking days off to help as well. Needless to say... NO exercise this week!

Up and Down

As we keep trucking along, I find myself fluctuating in my weight. I loose, and then I gain back a pound or two. I know that is common, especially during different times in the day, but it still gets frustrating. I gained a pound after James' birthday party, but I'm not going to let that get to me. I'm going to keep on moving along! One of the most frustrating things for me is my hormonal problems. As many of you reading this know, I have a syndrome called PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), which makes things like loosing weight harder than it should be. It is very common for women with PCOS to have a "spare tire" around their waist, which I most definitely have. Annoying. Due to these hormonal/chemical problems, things like carbohydrates and sugars are really bad for me. Hopefully I can keep those down to a full minimum so I can get healthy!! Just venting. Thanks for listening/reading!

Go!

Welcome to our weight loss blog! James and I have decided to start that stressful, hard, and strenuous path to loosing weight. With some new tools under our belt, we are excited to cheer each other on and look forward to a healthier tomorrow. This blog is meant to help track our progress and give us that extra incentive to loose the weight!

It has been one week since I started the Wii Fit Plus program, and I have to say, I LOVE IT! Everyday I get weighed, everyday I have some fun games to play, and everyday I look forward to taking time for myself (even if I can only do 20 minutes). So far, I have lost 5 pounds in one week. That probably sounds like a lot really fast, but for someone as large as I am, the weight comes off faster in the beginning. This isn't my first rodeo, and not the first time I have attempted to loose weight. Obese people tend to loose a lot of weight at the beginning... its continuing the process that is hard. I'm hoping that this program can help me stay on track!

James has lost 2 inches so far in his waist on his diet. I am SOOO proud of him! Even in stressful times, he continues to only eat what the doctor tells him, and trucks along.

Hopefully there will be MANY MANY more of these posts of our weight loss. Once we have lost a significant amount, we'll for sure post pictures. Here's to our daughter, each other, and our future!!
